Say “aloha” to “Showtime 2008,” the Asian American Drug Abuse Program’s fundraising event in celebration of its 36th anniversary. The event, to be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, features “Changing Lives and Saving Families” as this year’s theme.
The aloha-themed fundraiser boasts “great entertainment,” with Hawaiian singer Jasmine Trias, a top three finalist from the third season of “American Idol.”
The event will also feature a performance by Keali’l Ceballos, a popular hula group based in Los Angeles, leading up to the night’s main performance. Na-Kama, a group from Hawaii who recently won the prestigious Hoku award for their album, will headline the night.
Special honorees will be announced at the event. Last year ADAAP honored Cathay Pacific Airways and the Rev. Kenneth Uyeda Fong.
