The Asian Heritage Society was formed Feb. 22, 2007 (EIN: 26-2317640) as a 501C3 non-profit corporation to serve as a force for building the
next generation of Asian American leaders and to promote the Asian Pacific Islander community and Asian American experience through media, educational programs and other means that foster a greater understanding of the diversity of Asian cultures. As such, The Asian Heritage
Society is dedicated to growing tomorrow’s leaders and creating a legacy for the leaders of today.
The Society’s cornerstones are twofold: Leadership and Legacy
LEADERSHIP: The thrust of this program is workshops, forums, seminars and classes that bring together high school and college students
and youths in general to address issues affecting their respective communities and to engage collectively to overcome obstacles that hinder
The Asian Heritage Society’s goal of global harmony and understanding. It is the belief of the Asian Heritage Society that unless we break
down linguistic and cultural barriers that divide us as a society, misunderstandings will continue to generate tragedies such as 9/11.
LEGACY: We believe our best resource is our own people – achievers who have left their mark for the greater good of our community and the
greater community of humankind. They are the backbone of our mentor program because they exemplify leadership. They are Asian Heritage
Award honorees, nominees and other community and business leaders, whose individual stories are the basis for a future site that will evolve
into San Diego’s first Asian Heritage multimedia experience using essays, personal recollections, photos, video and oral histories, in a
subject’s own words and the words of others.
With the help of Asia Media Inc.,Asia Media Los Angeles, ASIA, The Journal of Culture & Commerce, and all its partners, the
Asian Heritage Society is actively engaged in building a legacy for the Asian Pacific Islander community of Southern California
for this generation and generations to come.
